The Mask You Live In

The Upstate New York MKP Area hosted a screening of “The Mask You Live In” in February – a powerful movie about the enculturation of boys into limiting and harmful beliefs about what it means to be a man. From left to right above are Evan Burnett, Youth Educator at the MK Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence, Kit Miller, executive director of the MK Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence, David Sanchez, Youth Program Coordinator, and Jim Coulombe, MKP Leader Emeritus.

The event was a massive success with a sell-out audience of over 300 people and over $2500 raised to support the Ghandi Center for Nonviolence in Rochester. The men who produced the event in upstate New York also produced an incredible resource for helping other Areas bring the movie to their constituencies.
