MKP-Upstate New York

About MKP in Upstate NY

MKP Upstate NY ran its first New Warrior Training Adventure in 1992 and became a Full Center shortly afterwards.  It covers New York State north from the  Mid Hudson Valley to the Adirondack and west to the Niagara Falls and Canada.  More than 700 men have attended their NWTA weekend in Upstate NY.

MKP Upstate NY is an all-volunteer organization. Our mission is to “Change the World one man at a time.  We are men mentoring men – through the passages of their lives.”  We do that by teaching the core values of integrity, accountability and compassion to empower each man to live his own personal mission of service in the world.  We hold New Warrior Training Adventure weekends two times every year.  In addition, we offer various trainings throughout the year that focus on emotional literacy, interpersonal and partner relationships, Multi-Cultural Awareness and Leadership.

Men find support in their journey by participation in Integration Groups (i-Groups).  I-Groups meet on a regular weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis throughout Upstate NY. Men in I-Groups find the support and connection of other men as they “integrate” their skills and knowledge into the fabric of their lives.  We currently have more than 25 I-Groups meeting regularly throughout New York.  Most of these groups are located in and around the Rochester and Albany areas. They exist to serve and support the men of the Community and their numbers are growing.

Men in the MKP Upstate Community find many opportunities to exercise their talents and leadership abilities within the organization.  Of course, there is always a need for men to help with the work that keeps MKP Upstate functioning smoothly and allows us to hold trainings and serve new men. We are also proud to support the work that organizations like the Boys to Men bring to our society.  Boys to Men mentors young men between the ages of 12 and 17 through an often difficult period of growing up.  Men brought both of these programs to the Upstate NY  Community AFTER their NWTA training. And these are just some of the many, many ways that Upstate NY men are living their missions of service in the world.

We are also proud of the fact that in Upstate NY it is NOT all work and no play.  Certainly living in mission is a joy all its own.  AND Fun and fellowship is a big part of who we are.   We just plain like BEING with each other – connecting at trainings, meetings, the Annual Gathering and other Community events as well as events worldwide!

Our invitation to you is  “come and join us!  The world needs men who live their lives with conscious intent and display integrity, accountability and compassion. The WORLD NEEDS YOU! “

We are an order of Men called to reclaim sacred masculinity for our time through initiation, training and action in the world.

The ManKind Project is a global nonprofit [501 (c)(3)] charitable organization that conducts challenging and highly rewarding programs for men at every stage of life. The ManKind Project supports a global network of peer-facilitated men's groups where men mentor men through the passages of their lives. The ManKind Project empowers men to missions of service, supporting men to make a difference in the lives of men, women, and children around the world. We help men through any transition, men at all levels of success, men facing almost any challenge. Our flagship training, described by many as the most powerful men's training available, is the New Warrior Training Adventure. The ManKind Project (MKP) is not affiliated with any religious practice or political party. We strive to be increasingly inclusive and culturally aware.
